eduroam is the primary Wi-Fi network for the UC Berkeley campus community. In order to connect to eduroam individuals must create a key, or password, that will be used in place of their normal CalNet passphrase.

What types of accounts are supported on campus WiFi?

Visitors from other academic and research institutes who already have an eduroam account do not need to create an account in Wi-Fi Keys when visiting UC Berkeley. eduroam accounts are shared world-wide

Creating your WiFi Account

  1. Navigate to the Wi-Fi Keys website https://wifi-keys.berkeley.edu

  2. You may be redirected to the CalNet authentication portal, if so log in using the account you want for wireless access

  3. The home screen will show your eduroam user name with a Set Password or Change Password button.

    • Disabled - The account is valid, but does not have a password
    • Active - The account is valid and has a password
    • Blocked - The account has been suspended by the Information Security Office

  5. To set an initial password on a Disabled account, click Set Password to create a password for your account

  6. A Create Account window will open and prompt you to enter a new password, and then confirm it

  7. The Save Account button will be inactive until the password and new password match, and meet all of the UC Berkeley password requirements.

  8.  Click Save Account, you will be briefly taken to a change completed page, and then redirected back to the Wi-Fi Keys main page

  9. Your account is now available to connect to eduroam
