We recommend using the new iOS passwordless process to access eduroam. If that does not work for you, you can continue with these instructions.

This article explains how to connect to the UC Berkeley Campus eduroam WiFi network on a device running Apple iOS using a username and password.

Before you Begin

  1. Forget or Delete the Berkeley-Visitor network from your remembered WiFi networks list
    • Open the Settings application and select Wi-Fi
    • Click the information (i) icon next to the network and then select Forget This Network
  2. Create your WiFi Key

 

Connecting iOS to eduroam

1. Open the Settings application iOS Settings Application Icon

2. Select Wi-Fi

 

3. Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled with the selector to the right and showing green

It may take a few moments for your computer to identify and list all available wireless networks

5. Locate eduroam and select it from the list

6. You will be prompted for your WiFi Key username and WiFi Key (password) then click Join

 

7. You will be prompted to accept the wireless authentication certificate. It may be listed as trusted, it may be listed as untrusted, if the certificate is listed as wireless-auth.berkeley.edu it is the correct certitficate and you should click Trust

8.  If you have entered the information as listed along with your correct WiFi ID and Key your device should connect to the eduroam network

If you have issues connecting to eduroam try rebooting your device and go through these steps again. If this does not resolve connectivity please contact us for help:
