Overview

The ServiceNow 5.6.0 release is planned for Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.

What’s New

There are no new features.

Changes

Human Resources - The column “Workflow Status” has been removed from Staff Recruitment and Classification forms for HR staff.

Human Resources - On the ESS Portal Staff Recruitment, Waiver, Extension, and Mass hires forms the workflow has been changed so that the user can not submit the form if the submitter is also the Approver 1 and Approver 2 on the form.

Human Resources - On the Staff Classification and Reclassification forms, when the submitter responds to the question "Did you attach the former job description?”, the answers are entered in the activity notes.

Human Resources - On the Waiver form, the Waiver call out has been moved above the Department call out.

Incident management - Several of the individual email notifications for ServiceNow user (located at “Profile:Notification Preference”) defaults could not be toggled off. While the default value for these notifications is still on, each user can now turn off these default notifications.

Instructions for changing your notification preferences can be found in the knowledge base article, "How to manage your ServiceNow notification preferences".

Fixes

Human Resources - Campus customers using the ESS Portal Staff Recruitment and Waiver forms, when responding to the question "Who is the supervisor for this position?”, would see non-valid users in the lookup for this field. This bug has been fixed.

Human Resources - The extra field "Background Check Approval Received" has been removed from top section of the Hires case.

Human Resources - The attach button for "Attach the signed Interdepartmental Order Form” on the ESS Portal Staff Recruitment and Waiver forms failed to take the user to the top of the form. This bug has been fixed.

Human Resources - On a newly created Hire case, the status on the first screen read “1”, rather than “Requested”. This has been fixed.

Known Issues

Platform - Users with the share-group-filters role are no longer able to share filters with their group. This has been reported to the vendor and is a known issue. A fix is expected in the next major release from the vendor.
