How do I connect to AirBears2 on a Windows XP device?

Before you begin

 

 

To configure your computer for AirBears2 access
  1. Right-click the Wireless Network icon in the taskbar. 
  2. Select View Available Wireless Networks.
  3. In the left column under Related Tasks, click Change the order of preferred networks
  4. The Wireless Network Connection Properties window will open to the Wireless Networks tab.
  5. Depending on if the netowrk is visible: 
    • Select AirBears2 and click on the Properties button. 
    • If it isn't visible, click the Add... button located under Preferred Networks.
      • Enter the Network Settings as follows:
      • Network Authetnication: WPA2
      • Network name (SSID): AirBears2
      • Data encryption: AES
  6. Click on the Authentication tab.
  7. Change the settings as follows:
    • EAP type: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    • Uncheck Authenticate as computer when computer information is available.
  8. Click the Properties button.
  9. Configure the settings on this page as follows:
    • Uncheck Validate server certificate.
    • Select Authentication Method: select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP-v2).
    • Check Enable Fast Reconnect.
  10. Click on the Configure button.
    • Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
  11. Click the OK button.
  12. Click the OK button.
AirBears2 has now been configured for Windows XP.
 
To log into AirBears2
Troubleshooting Tips
  • Turn your wifi connection off then back on before connecting for the first time.
  • If connection issues continue, try reordering the AirBears2 network in preferred networks:
    1. Right click the Wireless Network icon in the taskbar.
    2. Choose View Available Wireless Network.
    3. In the left column under Related Tasks, click Change the order of preferred networks.
      • The Wireless Network Connection Properties window will open to the Wireless Network Tab.
    4. Highlight AirBears2 in the list of networks.
    5. Click the Move up button until it is at the top of the list.
    6. Click on the OK button.
