How do I recover or permanently delete files and folders from trash in Box?

You can remove files from Box by clicking the trash icon. Files will remain in your Trash folder until you empty your trash because automatic deletion has not been enabled. Note: if you're the owner of a shared file, others can view it until you permanently delete the file. If you're not the owner, others can see the file even if you empty your trash.

To recover or delete items from the system

  1. Navigate to berkeley.box.com/
  2. Click on the Continue button.
    • If prompted with the CalNet Authentication Screen, enter your CalNetID and passphrase.
  3. Navigate to the Box Knowledge Base article on Using the Trash to Restore Files and Folders.
  4. Apply the procedure as applicable.
