All official instructors meeting in a Course Capture eligible room will receive an announcement email to opt in and to adjust their Course Capture settings at least two weeks prior to instruction start. Instructors will be able to opt in at least two weeks before instruction starts.
For multi-instructor courses, all instructors must opt into Course Capture before recordings are scheduled.
To opt in:
- Go to Course Capture and click Log into to Course Capture
- You will be presented with a table of current eligible courses and their Course Capture status. See Home Page Explained
- Click the course name and you'll see your Course Capture settings. To opt-in, trigger the toggle near the top of the page

- Once you have opted-in, it will take about an hour before your recordings are scheduled. Once it is schedule, you will get an email from coursecapture@berkeley.edu, and the status will be updated in the status table and on the course page.

- You may also want to review and change any Course Capture settings at this time.
If you want to always use Course Capture, there is also an option to set your default setting to Opt-In.
