In general, any UC Berkeley employee (faculty or staff) is eligible to create a Special Purpose Account (SPA).
Important: To create or manage a SPA, you must be logged in as yourself (using your personal CalNet ID). If you are a member of multiple SPAs and the creation tool is not working, double-check that you are not accidentally logged in under a different SPA identity. Use an incognito/private browser window if you are unsure.
Graduate students are unable to create SPAs. However, they can be added to existing SPAs as Direct Members or granted Delegated Access by an eligible employee.
