Your Gmail Sent Folder: Storage for Comprehensive Mail

To ensure all your communications are securely and comprehensively stored, we are making a change to how email is saved in your Gmail account. 

What is changing?

Beginning August 8, 2025, a copy of all messages sent from your Google Workspace services (such as Google Calendar, Drive and Forms) will now also be stored in your Gmail account. 

For example, now when you respond to a meeting invitation in Google Calendar, share a document in Google Drive, or submit a form in Google Forms, a copy of each communication will appear in your Sent folder in Gmail.

How does this affect me?

This change will have a minimal impact on your day-to-day use of Gmail and other Google services. The primary benefit is that you will have a record of all communications sent from Google Workspace services outside of Gmail.
