SHAPE Training

Starting Summer 2025, all UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students will see the course "UC Sexual Violence and Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, Prevention and Education (SHAPE)" in their bCourses dashboard. The SHAPE training course is required, and all undergraduate and graduate students will be enrolled on an annual basis. For full information about this training, refer to the Required Trainings page of the SVSH Hub website.

When students log in to bCourses, the SHAPE course will display on the Dashboard as a course card. Students must complete the SHAPE training course on a desktop or laptop computer, or by logging into bCourses using a mobile browser. Students should not use the Canvas student app to attempt the training since the content will not load properly in the app.

Note: When you are in the SHAPE training course, if you select the Home or Dashboard global navigation icons, you will continue to see "University of California" in the top left corner of your navigation page (as displayed in the image on the left). This will return to the bCourses theme when you click into any other course that you are enrolled in.

Getting Help

SHAPE training is managed by the UC Online team. If you encounter technical difficulties with the course, email SHAPE-Support@uconline.edu to open a ticket.

You can also open a ticket with the UC Online support team from within the SHAPE course:

  1. Open the SHAPE training course in bCourses. You should see "University of California" in the top left of the screen.
  2. Select the Help button in the global navigation bar on the left.
  3. Select the "Report a Problem" link.
  4. Complete the fields to submit a support ticket to the UC Online team.
