Beginning March 18, 2025, employees and affiliates who are using SMS (text messages) or simple hardware tokens for 2-Factor authentication will be prompted to either log in with a bypass code or will temporarily be allowed to log into https://mycalnet.berkeley.edu/account-manager/ to add another device to their account:
To enter a bypass code you’ll see:
If you don’t have a bypass code, open a ticket with ITCS or enroll a new device.

To enroll a new device:
- Click Other options
- Select Manage devices
- You’ll be asked to CalNet authenticate using your old/existing unsupported device listed.
- Note: the unsupported device will only work to access the Device Management Panel at mycalnet.berkeley.edu.
- Once authenticated, you will enter the Duo Device Manager. Select Add a device.
- Only supported devices (such as Duo Mobile and Security Keys) will be available to be added:
- Once you’ve added a supported device, you can log in to CalNet without further interruptions.
