Kaltura can be accessed by all Faculty, staff, and students through bCourses or through MediaSpace; both provide a portal to “My Media”, your personal media repository, which holds all Kaltura content that you own (whether you uploaded it, it was copied from your Zoom account, or somebody transferred ownership to you) or for which you’ve been designated a collaborator. Once in “My Media” you can share media with a bCourses site, with selected individuals, or keep it restricted.

For most instructional purposes, faculty, students, and supporting staff should use bCourses as their main portal to Kaltura. Using bCourses with Kaltura allows for easy sharing of content within any bCourses site (restricting access to only those who are members of the site) and the same content can be shared to multiple sites.

For most non-instructional purposes, MediaSpace is a better fit to share media with groups or individuals. Using MediaSpace, you can create your own channel to share your content widely with the UC Berkeley community, or only share with specific individuals.
