Instructions for Managing Users in CalGroups for the Restricted VPN and bSecure Firewalls

CalGroups are used to administer group memberships in both the restricted VPN and the groups assigned to bSecure firewall instances. Below are the instructions for managing memberships in these groups.

Adding user(s):

1. Log into CalGroups using your CalNet ID and password

2. Under “Quick Links” in the left hand column, select “My Groups”

3. In the main area, filter for rVPN if you are looking for a Restricted VPN group or userid-dept if you are working with a firewall group.

4. For the Restricted VPN, find the group that is named rVPN-<ORG NODE>-<group name>-Users-Allow and click on it. For firewall groups look for userid-dept-<ORG NODE>-<group name>.

5. In the upper right corner, click the “+Add members” button

6. In the “Member name or ID” field enter either their Calnet ID or their name and select the user from the drop down menu that will appear.

7. Click the “Add” button

 

 

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for every new user

 

 

9. Log out from CalGroups when done using the “Log out” link in the upper right corner.

 

 

Deleting user(s):

 

1. Log into CalGroups using your CalNet ID and password

 

 

2. Under “Quick Links” in the left-hand column, select “My Groups”

 3. In the main area, filter for rVPN if you are looking for a Restricted VPN group or userid-dept if you are working with a firewall group.

4. For the Restricted VPN, find the group that is named rVPN-<ORG NODE>-<group name>-Users-Allow and click on it. For firewall groups look for userid-dept-<ORG NODE>-<group name>.

5. Click the check box to the left of any users who are to be removed.

6. Click the “Remove Selected Users” button.

 

 

7. Log out from CalGroups when done using the “Log out” link in the upper right corner.
