Windows updates pushing Group Policy badly affects end user rights on scanner machines

Background

Sometimes after Windows updates on scanner machines, updates that also appear to push Group Policies, the scanner machines scanning to Perceptive Content are badly affected given end user has no rights on files needed to scan. 

After the update the user tries to scan and gets the following error messages:

Resolution 

Imagine admins:

  1. Re-create scanning devices
  2. Update all scanning profiles so that they point to the new device

Assign privileges to the following locations:

  1. appdata\imagenow (Read/Write/Modify)
  2. Program Files (86)\imagenow\etc (Read/Write/Modify)
  3. ProgramData\imagenow\etc (Read/Write/Modify)
