Portable equipment Setup - Wireless Mic Kit

 Wireless Mic Kit is a supplemental bundle that can only be reserved in addition to the Portable Audio (PA) System.  Below is the basic setup instruction.  If you need additional assistance please contact the Classroom Technology Support team for an equipment consultation.

Content

  • Microphone Receiver
  • Wireless handheld mic
  • Wireless hands-free mic
  • power cable for receiver
  • Two Antennas
  • Yellow XLR microphone cable

 

Please note:
Although there are two microphones in this kit, only one microphone can be used at one time.




 

Basic Operation

 


 

 

  • Setup the antennas by insert the connector and turn clock wise 90 degree to secure it.
  • The antennas should be pointing 45 degree out, away from each other

 

  • Plug in the power cable to receiver and outlet

 

Connecting to a classroom with microphone input capabilities

 

  • Plug the Yellow XLR microphone cable into the MIC OUT port. 
  • Connect the other side of the cable to the room's microphone system (either MIC 1 or MIC 2.)
  • Turn on power for receiver

 

 

Connecting to a PA system

 
  • Plug the Yellow XLR microphone cable into the MIC OUT port. 
  • Connect the other side of the cable to the PA System's MIC Input (Refer to PA Operation for PA usage)

 

  • Turn on power for receiver and PA

Handheld Mic operation/battery replacement

 



  • Turn on power for mic by holding mute/power button (light should turn green, group, channel, and battery life should pop up)

 

  • If group and channel doesn't match the receiver, you can change it manually or automatically
    1. Automatically
      • Twist off bottom of the mic and hold the bottom of the mic right next to the words "sync" on the receiver

      • Press Sync button on receiver and hold mic next to it
      • Ready light should turn green and group and channel should now match
      • If it doesn't work after a couple tries, refer to changing it manually
    2. Manually
      • Hold select and wait for group # to blink
      • Click select until group # matches the number on receiver
      • Hold select and wait for Channel # to blink
      • Click select until channel # matches the number on receiver
      • Hold power/mute until numbers stop blinking and group, channel, and battery show on screen
  • To mute, press mute (light should turn from green to orange)
  • To unmute, press mute (light should turn from orange to green)
  • To replace battery
    1. Turn off mic
    2. Twist off bottom cap and open battery hatch
    3. Take out batteries and replace with new ones in box

Hands-free Mic operation/battery replacement

 
  • Turn on power by holding mute/power button on top (light should turn green, group, channel, and battery life should pop up)

 

  • Make sure side switch is on "mic"

  • If group and channel doesn't match the receiver, you can change it manually or automatically
    1. Automatically
      • Press and hold buttons on the side to open battery area
      • Hold the sync of the mic right next to the words "sync" on the receiver

      • Press Sync button on receiver and hold mic next to it
      • Ready light should turn green and group and channel should now match
      • If it doesn't work after a couple tries, refer to changing it manually
    2. Manually
      • Hold select and wait for group # to blink
      • Click select until group # matches the number on receiver
      • Hold select and wait for Channel # to blink
      • Click select until channel # matches the number on receiver
      • Hold power/mute until numbers stop blinking and group, channel, and battery show on screen

    2. Press and hold both side buttons and pull open battery area
