The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using Apple iPhones.  If you are setting up an Apple iPad tablet please follow the iOS/iPad instructions.

Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or cellular network connection.

  1. Open Safari and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.
  2. On iOS you must use Safari to enroll in eduroam.
  3. Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
  4. Some iOS devices request the desktop version of a web site and this will cause the enrollment page to misidentify the device as macOS.
    • If the enrollment site lists macOS instead of iPhone/iPad, scroll to the bottom of the page under Was your device detected incorrectly? and change the device from macOS to iPhone/iPad before continuing.
  5.  Select Sign In and log in with your CalNet credentials and 2-Factor Authentication.
  6. Select JoinNow. Allow your iOS device to download a configuration profile.
  7. You may see additional approval messages.  Allow and/or accept all.   Select the device you are using, as appropriate.

  8. Go to Settings on your iOS device. Select the Profile Downloaded tab and install the eduroam certificate.
  9. Install/Accept all of the following notifications to complete the install.

  10. Once the installation is completed, the iOS device will be able to connect to eduroam.  If it does not connect automatically, click on eduroam.
