Before you begin:

To uninstall the Cisco VPN client with the installer
  1. Launch the GlobalProtect.pkg file
    1. If you do not already have the installation software go to https://vpn.berkeley.edu and download it
  2. At the Welcome page click Continue
  3. At the Destination page click Continue
  4. On the Installation Type page unselect GlobalProtect and select Uninstall GlobalProtect, then click Continue
  5. Click Install (the button always says Install even if the operation is uninstall)
  6. You will be prompted for your User Name and Password, then click Install Software to uninstall GlobalProtect
  7. If you intend to reinstall tell the installer not to delete the installer when complete
  8. Click close to exit the installer
  9. Verify that GlobalProtect no longer shows up in the service list of in the Applications list
To uninstall the Cisco VPN client without the installer
  1. Open a terminal window
    • To open a Terminal Window: 
      1. Navigate to the Applications Folder.
      2. Open the Utilities folder.
      3. Open the Terminal application.
  2. Type following exactly as it appears, into the Terminal window:
    • sudo /Applications/GlobalProtect.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall_gp.sh
    • Click the Enter key on your keyboard.
  3. Enter your password when prompted.
  4. If the application is uninstalled successfully you will be returned to the command prompt, if there are any issues an error will be displayed.
  5. Verify that GlobalProtect no longer shows up in the service list of in the Applications list
