How to sign into your UC Berkeley Zoom account

Before you can join most Zoom meetings at UC Berkeley you will need to be signed in to your Zoom account, using your CalNet ID and Passphrase. In the Zoom Desktop and Mobile apps, you can do this via the “Sign in with SSO” option. See below for step-by-step instructions.

Web

  1. Go to https://berkeley.zoom.us, and click “Sign in”, or navigate directly to https://berkeley.zoom.us/signin.
  2. You will see the standard CalNet login screen. Sign in using your CalNet ID and Passphrase. If you need to sign in as a SPA, see the instructions at Log in as a SPA | CalNet - Identity and Access Management.

Desktop Client

  1. If you have not already installed the Zoom desktop software, you can install it from Self Service on Berkeley Desktop-managed computers, or download it directly from Zoom.
  2. Open the Zoom client on your computer. You will see a screen that looks like:
  3. Click “Sign in with SSO”. You will see a screen that looks like:
  4. Enter “berkeley” where it says “Your company domain”, and click “Continue”. Your web browser will open.
  5. If you’re not already signed in to CalNet, you will see the standard CalNet login screen. Sign in using your CalNet ID and Passphrase. If you need to sign in as a SPA, see the instructions at Log in as a SPA | CalNet - Identity and Access Management.
  6. Once you have signed in to CalNet (or if you are already signed in), you will see the following screen:
  7. Click “Open zoom.us”
  8. Your Zoom desktop application will reopen. Click on the icon in the upper-right of the Zoom window to confirm that you are logged in:

Mobile Client

  1. Install the Zoom app from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the Zoom app. You will see the following screen. (Note: These instructions use screenshots from iOS, but the procedure is the same for Android.)
  3. Tap the “Sign In” button in the lower-right corner. You will see the following screen:
  4. Click the “SSO” option in the lower-right corner. You will see the following screen:
  5. Enter “berkeley” where it says “company domain”, and tap “go” on the keyboard. Your device’s web browser will open and you will see the standard CalNet login screen. Sign in using your CalNet ID and Passphrase. If you need to sign in as a SPA, see the instructions at Log in as a SPA | CalNet - Identity and Access Management.
  6. Once you have signed in to CalNet, you will see the following screen:
  7. Click “Open”. You will see your name in the middle of the screen, confirming that you have successfully logged in:

 

 

Zoom accounts owned by SPAs (Special Purpose Accounts/Departmental accounts)
