Opportunity

There are times when it is appropriate to adjust an envelope during its workflow. This table describes the ways in which an envelope can be adjusted and by whom.

When adding fields during document/template preparation.


Functionality

Recipients can add a Comment adjacent to a specific part of the envelope document.

Comment visible to all recipients and becomes part of the audit trail.

Recipients can add markup over specific content within the document. 


All recipients receive the marked up document and must initial to accept the changes. DocuSign auto places the initial field and automatically implements rerouting.


Becomes part of audit trail.

Recipients can re-assign signing responsibility to someone else.

Correct recipient, envelope, and document information for in process envelopes that you sent or are shared with you.


Recipients who have already accessed the envelope will receive a new notification to reassess and update their prior actions. Those who have not yet received the envelope will receive only the corrected version.

Who can control

Sender controls whether Comments are enabled on a specific envelope. The setting is in Advanced Options.

Sender can use this feature, accessed from the pull down menu next to the envelope name

Template or envelope preparer.


Add text field, mark it optional and format as preferred.


Recipient assigned that field will be able to type in relevant information. Next recipients will see the information.


Best used with clear instructions to the recipient describing the information requested. Instructions can be in document content just before the text field and/or as a tool tip.
