How to delete media files from My Media
Only media Owners can delete media from My Media. (For your Course Capture videos, the Course Capture system is the Owner; you are a Co-Editor. You can request that the Course Capture service delete any of your Course Capture videos: please send email to coursecapturehelp@berkeley.edu. Alternatively, as a Co-Editor you can use the Kaltura editor to trim out any portion of your Course Capture videos; see How do I use the Kaltura video editor?).
Also note that media cannot be deleted from My Media if it is published. Media is published if the word "Published" appears next to the media in green in My Media (see screenshot below).
- If your media is published in a Media Gallery, you may unpublish it using the steps KB article KB0014032 under "How to remove media from a Media Gallery". Media that you delete from your My Media is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
- If you have Media that you want to delete that is published "In Context" (i.e. embedded in bCourses content, such as a Page), and removing that content does not remove the "Published" tag, please contact kalturahelp@berkeley.edu. (We will need to make quick edit in our administrative interface for the system to realize that you your media is no longer published.)
