The instructor of the course will need to sponsor the auditor for a CalNet Guest ID. Once the auditor's Guest ID is set up, then they can be added to bCourses. Here are the steps:

Step 1

Sponsor them for a CalNet Guest ID. Instructions: CalNet Guest Account Sponsor Guide. An email will be sent to the auditor with steps on how they set up their Guest ID.

Step 2

Auditor sets up their Guest ID. You can check your My CalNet Guest dashboard to see whether they have activated their ID (it will say Activated in the Current status column).

Step 3

Once the auditor's Guest ID is activated, add them to your course site (using their UID is best). Instructions: Adding people to your site

FAQs

What if the guest/auditor already has a CalNet ID?

Simply add them to your course site using their UID, see Step 3 above. The auditor should know their UID because they are given this number upon setting up their CalNet ID.
