In some cases, you may be able to find an answer more quickly by following these steps before reaching out for IT support:
- Check the Knowledge Base for an answer: Search the IT Knowledge Base (KB)
- Issues with a computer system or network problem: Check the System Status page for updates on any outages.
- Suspicious activity that may impact cyber security: Contact the Security team immediately.
- Access campus IT services: Browse our service catalog (CalNet authentication required).
- Tap into free training on various technical and non-technical topics: Log into LinkedIn Learning.
IT Support for UC Berkeley Employees and Affiliates
Faculty, staff, postdocs, student employees, visiting scholars & other affiliates can reach IT Support online or by phone (510-664-9000, option 1), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding University holidays and curtailment periods).
Drop-in IT support is available to employees at the Academic Innovation Studio (AIS) in 117 Dwinelle Hall on Level D during the following hours.- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Monday through Thursday | 1 - 4 p.m.
- Friday | 1 - 3 p.m.
The Drop-in Support Center will also be closed on the following dates:
- Dec. 20 through Jan 14 (Curtailment)
- Jan. 20 (Academic/Admin Holiday)
- Afternoon of Jan 30 (OneIT event)

Tech Support for Students (non-employee)
Student Tech Services (STS) provides free tech support to all graduate, professional, and undergraduate students at UC Berkeley. The Student Helpdesk is available in-person, by phone and via email (excluding University holidays and curtailment periods).
