Zoom Cloud recording is intended for temporary storage of UC Berkeley related meetings/events. If you would like to retain a persistent copy of your recordings, you should save a copy to your local machine or download/upload the copy to another cloud storage provider. During the fall 2020 semester, we will be working to reduce the cloud content stored in Zoom so that we do not exceed our storage limits. The temporary 210 day auto-deletion timeframe will be ratcheted down to 30 days retention timeframe. Individuals with cloud content approaching auto-deletion dates will receive communications about their options for migrating or deleting content.

Zoom allows you to recover a recording within 30 days of deletion. However, we recommend you manage your recordings and download them before they delete automatically.  Remember to download them before you leave at the end of the semester. The UC Berkeley Security team recommends that recordings which contain P4 data should not be stored in the cloud.
