As part of the Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy, lived names and pronouns display in bCourses for users who have opted to share them. Instructors, staff, and students who set their lived name and pronouns in an official campus system of record, will have this information displayed in bCourses.
The names and pronouns displayed in bCourses are imported from official campus systems of record: CalCentral for students; UC Path for instructors and staff. To change the name and/or pronouns that appear in bCourses, update your name and/or pronouns in these official systems and the changes will be reflected in bCourses within 24 hours.
Selecting pronouns in the official system is optional. If you do not select or choose to remove your pronouns from your system of record, they will also be removed from displaying in bCourses.
If you opt to share them, pronouns in bCourses will display after your name in various areas of the site, including: Course Sections List, Discussions, Inbox, People page, User Profile page, and User Settings page. Pronouns in bCourses will not currently display in Speedgrader or the Gradebook.
