Fully uninstalling the GlobalProtect remote access client requires the removal of several associated library files which can be
Before you begin:
- You must have administrator privileges to uninstall GlobalProtect.
- Contact CSS IT or your local IT department if you do not normally install software onto your computer.
- This procedure is suggested if you have encountered the error where multiple logins are required to use the bSecure remote access service.
- Launch the GlobalProtect.pkg file
- If you do not already have the installation software go to https://vpn.berkeley.edu and download it
- At the Welcome page click Continue
- At the Destination page click Continue
- On the Installation Type page unselect GlobalProtect and select Uninstall GlobalProtect, then click Continue
- Click Install (the button always says Install even if the operation is uninstall)
- You will be prompted for your User Name and Password, then click Install Software to uninstall GlobalProtect
- If you intend to reinstall tell the installer not to delete the installer when complete
- Click close to exit the installer
- Verify that GlobalProtect no longer shows up in the service list of in the Applications list
- Open a terminal window
- To open a Terminal Window:
- Navigate to the Applications Folder.
- Open the Utilities folder.
- Open the Terminal application.
- To open a Terminal Window:
- Type following exactly as it appears, into the Terminal window:
- sudo /Applications/GlobalProtect.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall_gp.sh
- Click the Enter key on your keyboard.
- Enter your password when prompted.
- If the application is uninstalled successfully you will be returned to the command prompt, if there are any issues an error will be displayed.
- Verify that GlobalProtect no longer shows up in the service list of in the Applications list
