How do I add My Media or Media Gallery to my bCourses site?

This article is intended for instructors/staff looking to add the Kaltura My Media and/or Media Gallery tabs to their bCourses course menus. These galleries allow students and instructors to work with their Kaltura video content directly in bCourses.

By default, newly created bCourses sites do not contain links to the Kaltura My Media and Media Gallery tabs enabled in the course menu. Instructors, teachers, and designers can add links to these tools in bCourses using the following steps:

  1. Open a browser and go to bCourses (bcourses.berkeley.edu). You may need to sign in.
  2. Select the course you need My Media and/or Media Gallery added to.
  3. Select Settings, located at the bottom of the course menu.
  4. Select the Navigation tab, which is found at the top of the page (see image below).
Course Settings Tabs with "Navigation" selected
  5. Find the My Media or Media Gallery link found at the bottom of the page under the section labeled Drag items here to hide them from students.
  6. Select the bar My Media or Media Gallery and drag it up to the location you would like it to be in the course navigation menu bar (see image below)
Menu Items List with Media Gallery and My Media Highlighted
  7. Select the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Everyone who has access to the course will now see links to the Kaltura Media Gallery for that course.
