  1. Open the App Store and search for “GlobalProtect”, it is listed under Business applications, and install it.

 

  1. When the installation is complete open / launch GlobalProtect, the icon is a globe with a shield.

 

  1. If you have not had a VPN product installed on your device before the client will inform you that it is activating the functionality and you have to touch OK to continue.

 

  1. You will be brought to the settings page.

  1. Touch the line labeled Portal and enter “vpn.berkeley.edu” (without the quotes)

  1. Touch the Connect button, you will be taken to the standard CalNet authentication page

  1. If you successfully connect you will be taken to the status screen.
  2. You can disconnect, or change which connection you are using on the Home screen

When you want to use the VPN in the future, launch the GlobalProtect client and then select which VPN you wish to use. That will start the authentication process through CalNet.
