The steps below will guide you on connecting to eduroam secure wireless network at UC Berkeley using Linux devices.
Ensure you have some form of Wi-Fi or wired network connection.
- Open your preferred web browser and go to the GetOnline passwordless confirmation page, you will be prompted to log in to CalNet if you have not already done so.
- Click Continue to open the enrollment site.
- You’ll see a screen prompting you to download a helper application. Please Click JoinNow.
- Open a Terminal window, and navigate to the directory that you downloaded the application to. Type sh SecureW2_JoinNow.run to run the application. Do not run the script as root or sudo.
- You’ll be prompted to log in using CAS using your CalNet credentials and select “Sign In”. You may be prompted for Two-Factor authentication on your enrolled device.
You should now be able to select eduroam from the available wireless networks and connect.
