How can I share my Zoom Recordings in bCourses using Kaltura?

Important Student Privacy Information

If you intend to share video that includes student participation (identifying information such as name, image, or voice), you must follow certain practices; please see the Academic Senate FAQ "If I record a class lecture or discussion, and it includes student participation (identifying information such as name, image, or voice), can I share the recording with individuals who are not enrolled in the course?"

For most Zoom Cloud recordings

You will need to:

1. Wait until the recordings appear in your My Media. (Your recordings are automatically copied from the Zoom Cloud to your Kaltura My Media, assuming you have a Kaltura account; if you do not have a Kaltura account, see instructions below.)
   Recordings should appear shortly after you stop recording in Zoom; this can sometimes be minutes but at other times may take several hours.
   
2. Share the recordings. You have a variety of ways to do this, see How do I share media in Kaltura within bCourses?

Other things you may want to know how to do: 

• To get to your My Media, log into bCourses and go to almost any bCourses site; you will see My Media in the course navigation. (It is possible that some bCourses sites have My Media hidden. If you do not see My Media in the first course site you go to, try another.) 
• To ensure you have a Kaltura account (which you must have when your Zoom recordings are created), see How can I be sure that I have a Kaltura account?
  
• To ensure that your recordings are Zoom Cloud recordings, see How do I enable Zoom Cloud recordings? (Please note: Zoom Cloud Recordings will be turned off by default on January 6, 2021. If you previously used Cloud recordings, you will need to re-enable cloud recordings in Zoom.)

For Zoom Cloud recordings created prior to having a Kaltura account

You will need to:

1. Download these recordings to your hard disk. (For more info on downloading these recordings, follow the instructions in How do I download my Zoom Cloud recordings?)
   
2. Upload the media to Kaltura; see How do I upload media to My Media?
   
3. Share the recordings. You have a variety of ways to do this, all documented in How do I share media in Kaltura within bCourses?
   
   

For Zoom recordings that were saved to your hard disk (not the Zoom Cloud)

You will need to:

1. Locate the files on your hard disk.
   By default, recordings are placed in a Zoom folder in Documents:
   PC: C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Zoom
   Mac: /Users/User Name/Documents/Zoom
   
2. Upload the media to Kaltura; see How do I upload existing media files to My Media?
