There are a few places in your course site where you can add links to external websites.

Modules

You can add links to external websites in the Modules tool.

See this Canvas Guide for step-by-step instructions: How do I link to an external URL in Modules?

Course Navigation Menu

If you’d like to add an external link directly in your Course Navigation menu, you can use the “Redirect Tool”, which can be found in the Apps section of your course settings, see instructions below:

     1. In your course site, click on Settings, found at the bottom of the Course Navigation menu

     2. Click on the Apps tab. A list of external apps that can be added to bCourses will be displayed.

     3. Find and select the app called “Redirect Tool” (see screenshot below)

           "Redirect Tool" icon

     5. Fill in the properties of your link (see screenshot below):

            a. Enter the name of your link

Rich Content Editor

You can add links from within the Rich Content Editor, which is a word processing tool that you will see throughout Canvas whenever you are creating content, allowing you to format your text and add media.
