Modifications to ServiceNow user interface December 2023

 

A modified version of the ServiceNow interface will be deployed in December and here are some of the noted modifications. Most of the modifications will affect internal users. There will be very little impact for external clients. Please feel free to review these changes in the training environment today at https://berkeleytemp.service-now.com/  .

 

Left Navigation, Favorites and History

 

The left navigation will be pinned to the left side automatically at launch. There are visible differences, however the functionality has not changed.

 

You will now find your Favorites and History at the top of the screen as dropdowns.

 

Favorites can be pinned to the left navigation. Once pinned, the favorites will behave the same as the former version.

 

 

User Preferences

User preferences are now found via your name circle top right corner, and choose preferences. Please note that Themes are limited in the new interface and only one will be available.

 



List views

In the list views, the filter icon has slightly moved to the header bar along with the natural language feature. NOTE: the gear icon that controls the columns you see in the list view is now on the top right hand side of your view.

 

 

Case views

The view of a case has not changed and the general layout is the same. However, there is a change that will affect where you find the New button to create an ad hoc task. The "New" button is now on the right hand side of the list view in your task section as pointed out below. Same for the Hires section.
