My Media is your personal media repository, no matter where you access it from. Content in My Media is private to you unless you publish that content.

Specific information about uploading Zoom recordings can be found in How can I share my Zoom Recordings in bCourses using Kaltura?

To upload media to My Media:

  1. Go to My Media.
  2. Click the +Add New button and select Media Upload from the dropdown menu. (If you are using MediaSpace, this button is typically at the top right corner next to the search icon.)

  3. Drag in the media file into the window from your computer's desktop OR click Choose a file to upload and use your computer's file chooser to locate the media file.
    • Kaltura supports:

      Image Files:

            • png -- Portable Network Graphics
            • jpg/jpeg -- Joint Photographic Experts Group
            • .tif/.tiff -- Tag Image File Format
            • .bmp -- Bitmap Image File

      Video and Audio Files:

            • 3gp -- Multimedia Mobile Format
            • asf -- Microsoft Media
            • avi -- Audio Video Interleave
            • flv -- Flash Video/Audio
            • mov -- Apple Quicktime
            • mp3/mpeg3 -- Moving Picture Experts Program Audio Layer 3
            • mpg4 -- Digital Video Format
            • mpg -- Digital Media Format
            • qt -- Apple Quicktime (old format)
            • rm - Real Media
            • wav -- Waveform Audio File Format
            • wma -- Windows Media Audio
            • wmv -- Windows Media Video

Note that Kaltura cannot handle animated .gif files; if you try to upload them, they will appear as a still image of the gif's thumbnail. If you want to share an animated gif in bCourses, you will need to embed it using the Rich Content Editor. Refer to How do I embed media in bCourses? for more information.

  4. While the file is uploading, you can change the name of the media, enter a description and tags about the media, change the publishing schedule, and add collaborators on the Upload Media page. Click the Save button at the bottom of the window to save the new details. You will still be able to edit these details later.
  5. Eventually you should see “Upload Completed!” at the top of the window.

The media will now be available in your My Media
