When UC Berkeley implemented a new HR system called UCPath in March 2019, our employee and affiliate ID numbers changed.

UCPath ID numbers are 8-digits and start with 1, such as 10123456

ID numbers from the legacy HR system (HCM) were 9-digits and started with 01, such as 011234567. These HCM ID numbers are no longer valid at UC Berkeley. These numbers appear on the Cal1Cards for employees whose Cal1Card was issued prior to March, 2019.

How can I find my employee’s UCPath ID?

There are several ways:

  1. Login to portal.berkeley.edu, click on People Cards, scroll down to Supervised Personnel, and click on your employee’s card. UCPath ID is located at the upper right corner of the people card.
  2. Login to caltimeprod.berkeley.edu and click on timecards. Navigate to the employee you want to review. Their UCPath ID is immediately next to their name in the upper left corner of the timecard
  3. Login to ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu/home and click on Manager Actions from the left hand menu. Click View Employee Information. UCPath ID is displayed next to each employee’s name.

Why do I need my UCPath ID?

If you are an employee or affiliate and you have forgotten your passphrase, you will need to know your UCPath ID to use the self-service forgot passphrase feature at mycalnet.berkeley.edu.
