Can I create a mailing list with the same name as a SPA

Yes. You can also create many more lists for a SPA. Navigate to Manage bConnected Listsand log in as the SPA to create and manage your mailing lists.

If you own a bConnected list with the same name that you want for a SPA account, you must delete the list before you can reuse the name for an email account. Here are the steps to take to have both a list and an account with the same name

1. Go to Manage bConnected Lists
2. Find your list, copy the list roster and make a note of the list settings
3. If the roster is very large, ask bconnected@berkeley.edu to copy the roster and send it to you in a file format you can easily add to your recreated list
4. Delete the list
5. Create the SPA
6. Create a bMail account for the SPA
7. Re-create the list while logged in as the SPA, and add list members
