A knowledge base article about bCloud-Drive - Add your own Cloud Storage provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
This document will review adding your Cloud Storage in the bCloud-Drive. Before you can add storage to your bCloud-Drive, you will need to provision a bucket from one of the four supported Clouds (AWS, GCP, Cloudian, Wasabi).
For Cloudian and Wasabi, this is provided by the Storage Team.
1. Login to the bCloud-Drive
2. In the top right of your browser, click on your profile picture to bring up a menu. Select "Settings" to open your settings page.
3. On the left menu, select "External Storage"
4. Put in a simple Folder Name (Name is only used inside of bCloud-Drive, can be anything)
5. On the External Storage drop-down menu, choose "Amazon S3" (Choose Amazon S3 even if connecting to a Cloudian, AWS, GCP or Wasabi bucket)
6. First, select "Access Key" on the Authentication drop-down
7. Enter the bucketname the storage team provided you.
8. Enter "s3-ewh.ist.berkeley.edu:443" in the hostname field
9. Enter your Access Key in the field labeled "Access Key"
10. Enter your Secret Key in the field labeled "Secret Key"
11. After entering this authentication info, select the checkmark on the right of the screen to test and save this. If it was successful, you should see a green checkmark to the left of your folder name. If you receive a red "X", please check your authentication again.
12. Refresh the page to be able to add additional Cloudian buckets. Repeat steps 4 through 11 on the External Storage page.
Once storage is added, go back to your file list by clicking on the "Files" icon in the top left.
You should now see your Cloud folder(s), which you can open to view, upload, and download files from your Cloud location.
