A knowledge base article about Zoom Meeting and Webinar tips and tricks provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Here are some tips and tricks when you hold a Zoom Webinar or Large Meeting.
- Ensure you have enough network bandwidth. You can check your bandwidth and check Zoom's recommendations. You can test your connection by joining a test meeting.
- Ensure you have a quality camera, microphone and speakers. See Zoom's recommendations here.
- You may want to set a Virtual Background to preserve the privacy of your home or office.
- If there are others at your location, you may want to put a sign on your home office door that you are giving a presentation and you are not to be disturbed.
- If it's noisy outside you may want to close your windows.
- Fans and microphones don't mix well. Make sure your fan is far enough away from your microphone so it doesn't cause interference.
- Cell phones often cause unwanted feedback. If you are a presenter/panelist, you may want to join using a landline or your computer audio.
