The Self Service offer is called “Zoom Application Upgrade” and it will appear if you already have Zoom installed in your user profile:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Zoom
If you have Zoom on your Windows computer, then you most likely have it installed in your user profile.
If the Self Service offer has not appeared yet, and you have Zoom installed, then please log in to the campus bSecure GlobalProtect VPN. That may speed up the communication to get the SS offer to your computer.
1. Log in to your computer and open Self Service by clicking the white and blue “b” symbol in your taskbar.
2. On the Offers tab, look for “Zoom Application Upgrade”. You can also enter “Zoom” in the search field.
3. Read the Offer’s description and be sure to end any active Zoom meetings at this time. The upgrade will restart Zoom, which will automatically close all Zoom sessions.
4. Click the Accept button to start the upgrade. The upgrade takes a couple of minutes and will display a progress bar when Zoom get's updated.
5. When the upgrade has successfully completed, Zoom will re-open with the latest version.
Zoom in Self Service for Mac
The Self Service offer is called “Zoom” and is in the “Berkeley Desktop Software” category. The Self Service offer can be used to install or upgrade your Zoom application to the latest available version, regardless of where Zoom is installed:
User Profile Applications Directory: ~/Applications
System Applications Directory: /Applications
After using the Self Service offer, the Zoom app will be located in the System Applications Directory.
You may use the Self Service offer as many times as you would like to install or upgrade your Zoom app whenever a new version is released.
The Self Service offer includes a fix for a Zoom audio driver issue. When using certain Zoom features, such as sharing audio controls, Zoom will prompt for administrator credentials. The fix will allow those features to work without prompting for administrator credentials.
1. Log in to your computer and open Self Service (/Applications/Self Service.app)
2. In the Berkeley Desktop Software category, find the offer called “Zoom”.
3. It is recommended but not necessary to exit any active Zoom meetings at this time. Click “Install” on the Zoom offer to install or upgrade your Zoom app.
4. If you are upgrading your Zoom app and it was open at the time, then you may get a prompt that a new version of Zoom is available. You can choose to Restart Zoom now or “Remind Me Later”.
5. When the install or upgrade has successfully completed, Zoom will open with the latest version.
