What to do when you find a KB article that contains protected data

KB articles in the 'IT' knowledgebase are available to anyone without logging into ServiceNow.  They are available to internet search engines.

If you find a KB article that has protected data that should not be available to the public, send email to servicenow-support@berkeley.edu so we can safely remove the article from internet search and from public view.

If you are the KB author, editing the KB article and removing the protected data is not the appropriate action to take, as this leaves the protected data in the history of the KB article.  Retiring the KB article is not the appropriate action to take because any Knowledge creator can see retired articles.  Engage the ServiceNow support team and we will help you.
