A knowledge base article about What mail merge tools do I have access to? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
An enterprise license for Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM) has been temporarily sponsored for campus departments. YAMM is an add-on that integrates with Gmail to provide the ability to send personalized emails, newsletters, or forms to multiple recipients, without the need to write HTML for templates.
YAMM is available by request. To help mitigate security risks, the enterprise license is primarily intended for use with Special Purpose Accounts (SPAs). However, at this time, any employee, affiliate, or student may request access and be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
To remain eligible, you must follow all applicable policies, including:
These policies prohibit activities such as sending unsolicited (spam) messages and using University accounts to promote commercial services or activities.
Prior to September 2025, a number of students gained access and began using YAMM outside its original scope. Moving forward, while YAMM remains primarily intended for SPAs, student requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Students must agree to the following conditions:
Access to YAMM will be revoked if you violate any of the above policies. Access will also be revoked, without exception or appeal, if your account is blocked by Google for sending spam.
Departments and individuals can request YAMM through this Google Form.
Install the YAMM add-on from the Sheets toolbar: Add-ons > Get add-ons; OR from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Please note, YAMM is not supported by UC Berkeley IT. Visit YAMM Support.
The Enterprise License has been renewed through June 30, 2026. We will be evaluating whether continued renewal is feasible.
