A knowledge base article about What is the Kaltura service and who is eligible to use it? provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
Kaltura is a web-based video management platform that allows for the upload, editing, managing and sharing of videos and other media. Kaltura can be accessed from bCourses (Canvas) or from MediaSpace. Recordings from a variety of tools, including ETS Classroom Course Capture, Zoom, and Kaltura Capture (desktop application) can be saved directly to Kaltura.
Kaltura is intended for instructors and students primarily for instructional use cases. While UC Berkeley staff and departments may also use Kaltura as a video or media repository, there is limited support available for non-instructional uses, and public sharing of videos is not an option at this time.
Instructors should refer to Kaltura Instructors Getting Started page for comprehensive resources.
The Kaltura service launch was made possible through the generous support of the UC Berkeley Student Technology Fund.
