File shares – Shares can be created to provide you with a convenient way to transfer files and folders on your server.  They can be used to give you access to your logs files or as a storage area for holding your installation and data files.

Limited Remote Desktop – A restricted desktop can be configured for individuals or set up to be shared amongst multiple users.  Users have a desktop where they are allowed access to only the files, applications, drive mappings, etc. that are necessary to do their job.  This type of access can be configured on dedicated terminal servers as well as other types of servers.

Start/stop/restart services – Similar to the limited RDP option above we would create a limited remote desktop profile that would only allow you to restart your application’s services.

Shadow session – Customers can request a Windows Team Systems Administrator assist them while they work on their server.  This can be convenient for customers who need immediate support.

Temporary local admin – This option is for experienced customers who are comfortable working with a Windows Server operating system.  Local administrative rights are given to the customer for a limited time with the option to extend it with a Windows team member’s approval.

Long term local admin - This option is for experienced customers who are comfortable working with a Windows Server operating system and need long term access to their server(s).  Users are given the ability to obtain local administrative rights for a given period of time as needed.  These rights can be provided without submitting a request and are available outside normal business hours.

All of the above options can be requested by sending an email to win-ticket@berkeley.edu.  Be sure to include the name of your server and CalNet ID or pvt account name if applicable.
