VoiceMail Services

bIT proudly offers a range of different voicemail service types to suit your needs.  The feature is available at no additional cost with a campus line.  A brief description of each service is below. Protection Level Statement

UC Berkeley follows established campus policies and standards for handling data across varying protection levels. Please be aware that CalVoicemail is not approved for storing or transmitting Protection Level 3 (P3) or Protection Level 4 (P4) data.

When using CalVoicemail, do not include any of the following in voicemail messages:

• Social Security Numbers
• Credit Card Numbers
• Dates of Birth
• Account Numbers
• PINs or Security Codes
• Passwords or Usernames
• Employee ID Numbers
• Medical Records
• Any other personally identifiable information (PII) classified as P3 or P4

Unified Messaging Mailbox

• 320 message capacity
• 365 day retention of messages
• Access and manage voicemail via the telephone.
• Access and manage your voicemail online through the Web Portal (https://calvoicemail.voice.berkeley.edu). For security reasons, access is restricted to users connected to the campus network or logged in via VPN.
• Play back messages over your computer speakers.
• Receive a courtesy copy of your voicemail messages in your email as ".wav"
• Never worry about messages aging off or an accidentally deleted message - messages remain in your email and can be saved into a folder or your desktop.
• Set up rules for Notification and Follow Me service.

 

 

Announcement Only Mailbox

Mailbox that plays an announcement only and will not accept messages.

 

Extension Mailbox

Multiple people share a phone number, but each has their own mailbox and password for privacy. Perfect for a large office or when cost is a concern.
