A knowledge base article about View Course Retention Status and Scheduled Removals provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub - Knowledge Portal
The bCourses Course Retention Policy applies to all users of bCourses. bCourses sites for academic courses are retained for seven years after the end of the Academic Year in which the course was offered. Project Sites are subject to removal from the system if they do not have user activity for three years.
Instructors (those with Teacher, Lead TA, or TA course roles in bCourses) can review what courses or project sites are currently scheduled for removal in June 2028 in their Course Retention Status Dashboard.
From the bCourses dashboard, select the "Create & Manage Sites" button in the right sidebar.
Note: Your dashboard needs to be in card view for this button to be visible. See this Canvas guide for instructions on how to change your dashboard view: How do I use the Dashboard as an instructor?
Select the "View course retention and scheduled removals" option, then select "Next."
When the page loads, it will display a chart of courses for which you are a Teacher, Lead TA, or TA and/or and project sites that you own that are scheduled for removal from bCourses in June 2028. The list is updated on a weekly basis and may not display accurate information about recently exempted courses or project sites.
If you have no courses or project sites currently scheduled for removal in June 2028, the page will display the note, "You have no courses or project sites currently scheduled for removal."
