Please try the following checks to resolve the error:

Check if you are trying to access a video using a KAF link

Check if you got to the Access Denied Error by clicking a link that begins with "https://kaf.berkeley.edu/media/". Links starting with kaf do not work because of campus-wide privacy settings.

The video may be in the course Media Gallery. You can find the Media Gallery by selecting Media Gallery in the Course Navigation on the left side of the bCourses page.

If your instructor sent you a kaf link, you can refer them to How do I provide a link to a Kaltura Media item in bCourses? so they can understand why the link does not work.

Refresh the page

Try refreshing the page and opening and closing your browser. We've been finding that this issue sometimes goes away on its own, typically after 10 to 15 minutes.

Toggle your browser settings

  1. Try a different browser (switch to/from Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.)
  2. Clear browser cache following the instructions in How to clear your cache on any browser.
  3. Enable third party cookies
  4. Disable all plugins/extensions on the browser
  5. Disable Anti-virus
  6. Disable Firewall

Still no luck?

This issue may stem from either a deeper problem on your machine or from the way your instructor published the video to bCourses or because of a problem with the video that requires a minor repair. Please email kalturahelp@berkeley.edu for assistance.
