Purpose

This knowledge article will show you how to build a report that displays which IT knowledge base articles have no meta data tags to enable search.

 


Create a New Report

1. Go to the left navigation bar, and type Report in the search box

2. Select Create New from the Report menu

 

 

3. When you create a new report, the wizard will walk you through four stages.  It will open up on the Data stage, but can move between stages by clicking the on the words: Data, Type, Configure or Style.

 

4. Populate the "Data" fields by including

 

5. Select the Save button.

 

6. Select the Next button.  The report wizard will move to the next stage: Type.

 

7. In the "Type" stage, select the List chart.

 

8. Select the Save button.

 

9. Select the Next button.  The report wizard will move to the next stage: Configure.

 

10. Populate the "Configure" fields.  Select Choose columns.

 

 

11. Make sure that Meta and any other desired data fields are moved to the right-hand side.  Then click OK.

              

 

12. Select the Save button.

 

 

13. Select the filter icon to the right of the Configure pane. 

 

14. Add the report Conditions in the order listed.  After typing in each condition select AND on the right-hand side. 

 

15. Select the Save button.

 

16.  For this report, we will skip the Style stage.

 

17. Run the Report.  The report will appear below the report Conditions, so you may have to scroll down the page to see it.

 

 

18. The report will be saved in your report queue.  To find your saved reports, go to the left navigation bar, and type Report in the search box.  Select View / Run from the Report menu.  Find the report that you named in step 4.
