Custom Naming Benefits
One of the services that are offered in the Telecom Catalog is Custom Naming to new and existing lines. You are encouraged to name any important lines that you have and that IST may not be aware of. This will help prevent erroneous disconnects of a line that would interrupt your line of business or may cause a safety issue. Listed below are examples of Custom Named lines:
By using the Custom Naming configuration it will help you also cut costs to your department by not having to pay a reconnection fee or a voice line labor (technician) fee. This also helps your administrative contact to identifying important lines, when looking over the departments monthly billing. You can view the information below that will help you change any lines that your department would like to update with the Custom Naming feature on existing and new lines.
Please use the form that is listed in the telecom catalog as "Add New Emergency Line" if it falls under a Blue Light Emergency Line, Elevator Emergency Line, Fire Alarm Line, or Intrusion Alarm Line. There are codes to identify those lines already if the request is entered properly.
