Call Forward Your Campus PBX & Centrex Lines

These instructions are to activate and configure call forwarding your campus phone number.  This option will immediately forward all calls, at all times, without the phone ringing at your campus office.

 

 

Call Forwarding to an Off-Campus Number

To use this feature, you must have unrestricted call forwarding access.  If you've never used this feature before, please contact CNS to learn if you have this feature at 4-9000 (510-664-9000), select options 2, 1 or email at telecom@berkeley.edu 

Activating when you are not in the office:

The Telecom department can set your call forwarding for you, remotely.  When you are remote and do not have access to your office desktop phone, please submit a Change Service Request in the Telecom Catalog system.  If you cannot finalize the request, please enter an approver from your department. 

 

Activating when you are in the office:

The following instructions should be used when you are in your office and allows you to activate or deactivate the forwarding service from your campus telephone equipment.   You’ll need to know which type of phone service you have; Avaya PBX or Centrex (if you do not know which one you have, see these instructions).     

 

Avaya PBX Digital Phone:  

Activate Call Forwarding to an Off Campus Number 

On the physical phone set use the right navigation arrow to toggle to the next page to find Call Forward.

Press the corresponding button next to call forward, then press 9 +1 + area code + phone number. 

The indicator next to the Call Forward button will be turned on.  

To cancel the call forwarding feature, simply press the corresponding button and the indicator will be turned off.

 

Avaya PBX Analog Line (could be Avaya or Cortelco Phone):

*If forwarding your line to another campus number, enter only the 5-digit extension number instead of the full 10-digit number programming.
