Socreg is a self-service asset registration portal developed by the Information Security Office (ISO) to help campus departments and their Security Contacts maintain the registration of network assets and Protected Data, and to meet Policy requirements.

UC Berkeley's Departmental Security Contact Policy requires that campus departments designate a Security Contact to receive security email notifications and alerts for their networked devices. Socreg is used by Unit Security Contacts - groups of authorized members who register IT Resources and receive security notices regarding those resources.
