Description of Right Fax Service
RightFax is a service that is provided by IST Telecom to the UC Berkeley campus community that provides a server based facsimile solution to help reduce departmental costs of having a physical fax machine at their site.
RightFax allows faxes to be sent and received from a Windows workstation by using a client. Faxes can also be received as an e-mail attachment.
Instead of having a dedicated line and a fax machine to receive faxes, faxes are received at the RightFax server. Multiple faxes can be received and sent simultaneously, without tying up a site based fax. There is no problem with a fax machine losing power, running out of paper, or a failure in the fax machine itself. No need to wait for the old fax machine to finish receiving a fax, or to finish sending a fax
