Resetting your Voicemail Password

If you are at this point, you cannot reset the security code yourself. Please email to ccu@berkeley.edu with the following information:

  1. Write, “I need a Voice-Mail Password Reset.”
  2. Write, Your full name.
  3. Write, “My phone number 510-XXX-XXXX needs the Voice-Mail Password Reset.”
  4. Write, what the name of your Department is.

After you have sent your email, an INCIDENT ticket will be generated and you will receive the incident number. A Telecom CCU representative will reset your voice-mail password (as long as you have given all the information above on your email). When CCU has finished your password reset; they will contact you by email or phone with your new temporary password and then you will move on to the Second Action in the process.

Second Action: Resetting your Voice-Mail password using the temporary password which the Customer Care Unit (CCU) has given you:

Upon completing the first action of requesting and receiving a Voice-Mail password reset, you will be given a temporary password which will only be active for 30 calendar days; if you do not use it within that allotted amount of time, you will need to redo these actions over again.

Now that you have your temporary password given to you from CCU, please follow the steps below to change your Security Code from the temporary one you are provided.

From the same desk phone:

  1. Dial 6-2626
  2. Enter 7-digit mailbox if prompted.
  3. Enter Temporary Security Code =variable (8381061)
  4. You will hear your Code has expired and are prompted to change it.
  5. Note: You may not use your 7-digit mailbox number, sequential digits (1234) or repeating digits (1111).

From another telephone:

  1. Dial 6-2626, when your hear "Enter your Security Code", PRESS the key. (Remotely, dial* (510) 666-2626)
  2. Wait for the system to prompt you to enter your Mailbox number.
  3. Enter your mailbox as your full 7-digit telephone number.
  4. Enter your Temporary Security Code =variable (8381061)
  5. You will hear your Code has expired and are prompted to change it.
  6. Note: You may not use your 7-digit mailbox number, sequential digits (1234) or repeating digits (1111).

You have now completed installing your new password into the Voice-Mail System.
