Moving Prep: How to disconnect your workstation

In preparation for your workstation move, you'll need to:

  1. Open a ticket with IT Client Services to schedule the computer reconnect and set up:
    • 1-9 workstations = minimum 1 week advance notice 
    • 10+ workstations = minimum 2 weeks advance notice
    • If any network work is required (such as data ports activated) add an additional 3 weeks to the advance notice listed above
  2. Disconnect your workstation by unplugging any cables plugged into the device and any connected peripherals, such as a monitor or docking station, if applicable
  3. Wrap the cables
  4. Place the cables, keyboard, mouse, and docking station, if applicable, into a zip-top computer bag
  5. Label the zip-top moving bag, computer tower, and monitor(s) with your new location, office/cubicle #
